Key Responsibilities
Design and Development: Create and refine mechanical designs using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
Prototyping: Build, test, and iterate on prototypes to validate design concepts and functionality.
Materials Selection: Identify and select appropriate materials for prototypes, considering factors such as durability, cost, and manufacturability.
Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, industrial designers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.
Testing and Validation: Conduct tests on prototypes to ensure they meet performance, durability, and safety standards. Analyze test results and make necessary design adjustments.
Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports to document the design and development process.
Project Management: Manage project timelines and milestones to ensure that prototypes are delivered on time and within budget.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve design and prototyping processes.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
Experience: 3 years of experience in mechanical design and prototyping. Experience with rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining) is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) and experience with simulation tools (e.g., FEA).
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex design challenges.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
