Industrial Designer Consultant

We are seeking a creative and experienced Industrial Designer Consultant (BS or MS Industrial Design) to support product design and development on a part-time basis. The consultant will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing and refining product ideas while ensuring functionality, manufacturability and aesthetic appeal. The role requires close coordination with engineering and product development teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative and aesthetically pleasing designs for new products.
2. Develop initial concept sketches, renderings, and 3D models that effectively communicate design ideas, taking into consideration user experience, functionality, and manufacturability.
3. Conduct thorough research to identify user needs, market trends, and competitive research to create innovative products.
4. Participate in user testing and research activities to gather feedback and iterate designs to improve usability, functionality, and user satisfaction.
5. Stay up to date with the latest advancements and innovations in industrial design, materials, and manufacturing processes to integrate new technologies and practices into product design efforts.
6. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks and meet project timelines and budgets.
7. Maintain accurate documentation of design specifications, materials, and production processes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design.
2. Proven experience (at least 3-4 years) as an Industrial Designer in the tech industry, designing consumer products or electronic devices.
3. Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of creative, user-centered design solutions with a focus on technological products.
4. Strong portfolio demonstrating product design sketches & product design concept illustration.
5. Proficiency in 3dsmax, Keyshot and other design tools.
6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and justify design concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
7. Ability to think critically and solve complex design problems by balancing aesthetic, technical, and functional considerations.
8. Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
9. Familiarity with human factors and ergonomics in product design.
10. Understanding of usability principles and experience conducting user research and testing.

Only candidates with degree(mandatory) plus experience in Industrial Design will be preferred
